Youthful Artist Prefers Seascapes

Serridge Art

Deeside Advertiser, 1973

‘A 15-year-old pupil of Deeside Senior High School, William Serridge, of Connah’s Quay, is presenting his own exhibition of paintings at Connah’s Quay Civic Centre.

William, who is studying art under Miss Kathleen Reddin, portrays his main interest in the sea and sailing ships despite the tragic loss the family suffered this year when they lost his father and brother at sea.

The sea is portrayed in many seascapes exhibited, but also included are pencil drawing(s), pen and wash, landscapes, collage; oils; and still life.’
