Artist Given His Second Library Exhibition

‘Liverpool born, William Serridge is fast making a name for himself in the highly competitive world of art. For at the ‘ripe old age’ of 18, the talented young artist has been offered his second one-man exhibition at Connah’s Quay Library.

William, who lives on St. Marks Avenue, Connah’s Quay, reckons his interest in art stems back to his younger days in Liverpool. From then he began oil painting – gradually mastering all the basic techniques, and evolving his own artistic style.

His natural talent with brush and canvas was spotted by art mistress Miss Kathleen Reddin, (MBE), when he became a pupil at Deeside Senior High School; and at 15, he was offered his first exhibition at Connah’s Quay Library.

Nowadays, William specialises in landscape studies; and a selection of his work, including oil paintings of the old sailing ships of the River Dee; the old New Inn in Connah’s Quay; and Shotton Steelworks, will be on show between March 1st and 21st.’
